“Given the fact the car was born here in the US, I’m very excited to see it make its second race start here at Petit Le Mans.”Don PanozReally?!…‘born here in the US’…Well, let me just remind you, Don, of a small, inconvenient fact. The chassis used on the Delta Wing is from an old Aston Martin LMP1. Designed and built in Banbury. England. The engine, whilst branded as Nissan, was designed and build by the RML group. England. The designer, Ben Bowlby, was born in England and moved to the US 9 years ago after working for Lola cars. England. So, before you carry on exclaiming the wonders of this ‘all american’ car…just remember that.Note: The people who made the Delta Wing, All American Racers, was founded as Anglo American Racers, using British engines on american built cars. Quite fitting, eh?

Really?!

‘born here in the US’

Well, let me just remind you, Don, of a small, inconvenient fact.

England.

The single most important thing in a child’s performance is the quality of the teacher. Making sure a child spends the maximum amount of time with inspirational teachers is the most important thing.

Michael Gove

Bollocks. There are a number of factors in any child’s performance. A recent UN study says whether or not a child reads for pleasure is the most reliable indicator of future success, but generally, received wisdom is that it is parental interest in their child’s education that is most important. You can blame an awful lot for the broken education system we have in the UK, but most teachers are beyond reproach, and persecuting them will not improve matters. Show teachers that they are valued and trusted instead, stop driving them toward ridiculous targets and unachievable levels, and allow teachers to do what most of them got into the job to do in the first place: build better futures for the children that they teach.

Completely agree…
